The Preserved Culture of Hilton Head

The Gullah people are the descendants of the West African people who were brought as slaves to the states of Georgia, Florida, and South Carolina. They had also brought with them their own language, culture, and traditions and merged them with that of the American people. The result was a culture that was entirely different and is still preserved in their heritage today.

Today they openly share this heritage with tourists though Gullah Heritage Trail Tours. This is one of many Hilton head activities and a popular tour planning agency that helps people from around the world learn about the Gullah Corridor. This is delivered in a very exciting and engaging way where visitors are shown the traditions, landmarks, and others aspects that make them feel like they are part of the Gullah people.
