Get Involved In History on the Sea Islands

The Sea Islands are best known for their beautiful, pristine beaches. This is why many tourists prefer to make Georgia, Florida, and South Carolina their ideal vacation destination. Way down by the river, you will also find a small part of West African culture too. Commonly known as the Gullah, these people were brought to America as slaves and have been living along these parts ever since.

This part of America is known as the Gullah Corridor. The Gullah Geechee culture, history, and traditions are kept alive through guided tours offered by Gullah Heritage Trail Tours. The aptly named company will assist in planning out an interesting tour that will show you the people, their lifestyle, and other landmarks that are significant to them. Their aim is to enrich your time in the Sea Islands by showing you a different and interesting side to it.
